The Stiletto Hammer: Where Is It Made?

When asked for hammer recommendations, the first thing that comes to mind is the Stiletto Hammer. These are one of the strongest and long-lasting hammers from the company, making it a worthy investment. Made from one of the best manufacturers of premium hammers, you can't expect anything less.

However, if you've read the reviews and researched about the company, it has you wonder: Where are Stiletto Hammers made? Many claim it's manufactured in the US, but others say it's from China. It's quite confusing, really!

That's why I began delving into my research on this with the right data, so read on. I'll be answering your queries and show you more about the Stiletto company.

What Is Stiletto Tool?

The Titanium Hammer was patented in 1998 by Mark Martinez, with the goal of it being simple to use.

Before I get into the exact answers, I first want to share to you who exactly is Stiletto Tool. It's one of the best manufacturers of premium hammers and other handy tools many swear by on. After all, they've been around since 1849, which is the time of the California Gold Rush.

Ever since that year, they've been working on producing only the best tools. Now, many job sites and builders use it worldwide, with one of the most popular now being the Titanium Hammer.

The Titanium Hammer was patented in 1998 by Mark Martinez, with the goal of it being simple to use. The hammer was designed to make it easier on one's shoulders, elbows, and wrists, especially with extensive usage. So they chose to make it from titanium, which is 40% lighter and ten times less shock than steel.

As a result, you have a light hammer with less shock, making it comfortable to use with the same strength. Today, Titanium Hammers are still popularly used, with Stiletto Tool being the first and original company to produce it.

Where Are Stiletto Hammers Made?

As I was researching on Stiletto Mini 14 reviews, I noticed that so many users were arguing about where exactly it was made.

People state that: The tools were made in the US, they were made in China, they were made in the US but now in China. There were so many different answers and the list goes on, but it all boiled down to:

No one knew exactly where the tools were made! I couldn't even find clear answers online, and I didn't want to rely on inconsistent data or information. That's why I reached out to Stiletto Tool themselves to get the accurate and updated answer for everyone to know.

I asked them exactly, "Where are your hammers made this 2019?" Fortunately, they replied within the week and I delved into more research with the correct data to prove their point. So let's look into the exact answers in the next section:

My Final Verdict

Solid Titanium hammers such as the TBM14RMC TiBone Mini-14 ounce and the TB15MC TiBone 15-ounce are made in the US.

So, is Stiletto Hammers made in the USA or not? Thanks to Joel Allen from Stiletto Tool, he answered this:

Solid Titanium hammers such as the TBM14RMC TiBone Mini-14 ounce and the TB15MC TiBone 15-ounce are made in the US. Both of these hammers are one of the most solid and robust ones, having both the Titanium head and handle that won't break, ever. While a bit expensive, they are worth the long-term investment and made for professionals who want the assured success in their jobs.

Here's one of the premium Titanium hammers I'm talking about:

The TB15MC TiBone has a titanium head and a replaceable steel face. Its hammer handle is made of cast titanium with a good grip, as well as a side nail puller which works as strongly as the head.

Besides answering my question, Stiletto Tool also sent me a link for a YouTube video which shows the exact manufacturing process on their hammers. After watching it, I was impressed and interested as to how much work they put into creating all their hammers. Here's their video to check just how much they put into their hammers, from quality materials to construction:

Other than this, Mr. Joel Allen also states that,

"The Titanium bodies are cast in LA, shipped to Texas for its grips to be injection over-molded on the castings and the faces installed. Afterward, the hammers are packaged and sent to stores and customers."

How About Other Stiletto Hammer Handle Types?

Joel Allen still reassured that you'll still get the same quality seen from the YouTube video I showed above.

You probably noticed that I pointed out only Titanium bodies. For those who like using hammers made with a wood or fiberglass handle, how are your hammers made? Now THAT'S where we see some difference.

Stiletto hammers with a Titanium head and fiberglass or wooden handles aren't made in the US. They're actually manufactured from China! With that being said, Joel Allen still reassured that you'll still get the same quality seen from the YouTube video I showed above.

Why Is This Done For the Stiletto Hammer?

Since steel-framed hammers are way less expensive, Stiletto decides to create wooden and fiberglass alternatives to get a cheaper, yet still strong, alternative for similar prices.

After much research, I understand why Stiletto Tools chose to do this. This is because they want the premium Titanium hammers to compete to steel framing hammers which still continue to dominate today's market. Since steel-framed hammers are way less expensive, Stiletto decides to create wooden and fiberglass alternatives to get a cheaper, yet still strong, alternative for similar prices.

So while others are made in China, this is in order for the prices to stay down and for all of us to get a chance to have the Titanium hammers. Here's one of their products with the wooden handle:

The TI4MC Titan is made with a  lightweight titanium head and has a milled face. It offers 45% less weight and ten times less shock, as well as the solid part connections and quality handle for better swings.

Wrapping It Up

Stiletto Tool hammers are one of the most quality hammers to date, regardless of where it's made. The answer as to where Stiletto tools are really made from isn't exactly one direct one, but either way, I still admire them for it! It's why I will always stick with my trusty Stiletto Titanium Hammer next time I've got a project.
